Back with a bang and new vids

Well, after a year vacation and finally giving up on the half dozen or so people I asked to take over q3schools I’ve decided to come back out of the wood work and update this old beast of a site again. To all my faithful viewers over the years, I apologize for my extended absence and I hope you understand what I mean when I tell you, life caught me by the pants and ran off.

Since my absence the site demo inbox has been flooded with demos left patiently for me to post. I will get to them over the next week orso. I don’t have a lot of time but I will use what i have to get caught up. Alot of the demos submitted were from Megaddd, and almost all of them were tricks from Space CTF. So after a brief talk with Megaddd, I decided a Space CTF 101 demo video was in order. Originally I had planned to release a narrated video with lots of background and details. But like i said previously, I just dont have the time to devote to it right now. So instead a trick mixed 3 minute video will have to do.

The Longest Yard(qzdm17) Teleporter Rjs

qzteam7 Alternate mega

a catapult shot with a 2x combo in the middle area with a ricochet rocket off the back wall and land on the mega. I tried to predict the ricochet rocket but at that speed plus the reload time its nearly impossible to correct and get the 2x combo off. This is a trick i landed while playing around and trying to land a different trick for TQL2. Enjoy.

qzctf4 dblrox to opposite mega health

This is another nice submission from one of our viewers un1tyNL. Its a double rocket jump to the opposing mega health. Its not a practical trick, its not extremely hard either but it sure has style.

qzdm17 4x rox from rail and back

This is somewhat of a classic trick, 4x rockets from rail platform to rocket jump back to rail. Originally this trick was thought up and executed by Michael Flatley. Very pimp trick. Very pimp indeed.

qzdm18 Alternate Route to Quad

Another interesting trick I found recently while trying to pull off a different trick. At first I did this trick with a rocket then after a few more tries to perfect it, i screwed up and landed on the sign. Thus I realized, the rocket isn’t required at all! I will warn you in advance, this sucker is a pain in the arse to pull off, that sign is really narrow =).

qzdm17 Tripple rocket jump to quad damage

Probably one of the most attempted rocket jumps in the history of Quake. This trick was originally developed and mastered by sit back in 2000. I remember when sit was telling the story about how he came up with this trick in the shower. The trick itself is not extremely complicated, it takes more timing and a little finesse then anything else. This particular trick is not one of my favorites but its definitely an attention getter.

qzctf1 Mid jumps both ways

Two simple jumps for qzctf1. The first jump is a strafe jump of sorts that uses the details of the map to allow you to jump across the middle area where the red armor spawns. The second jump is the rocket jump version of this jump and in this specific jump I’m demonstrating the ease of this jump by doing the rocket jump nearly vertical at something close to 90 degrees.

qzctf4 Double Rocket Ricochet Trick

Nothing fancy just something I thought someone else might want to know about. Its not hard really, just a combo double rocket ricochet jump off the far pad on the opposite side of the map only to be catapulted into the ad billboard on the other side where you started.

qzctf4 2 Key Jumps

These are 2 really key jumps that I personally think every ctf4 players should know. They arnt that hard, that get you where your going in a completely new way, and deviances’ like that can give you the chance for that winning shot moment in your game.

qzctf4 Leftside pushpad cheat

Well its not exactly a cheat. Its actually quite a pain in the butt to pull off. Infact, I miss this specific trick more then I make it. That does not mean that others are not better at it, nor is it too hard to learn. Infact, if you pay attention, the trick is really quite simple as long as you hit the upper right corner on the outer pushpad. But you have to be careful not to hit it to far on the edge because you’ll miss the opposing push pad all together. Hit it to much in the center and you might as well not have attempted it at all.
