qzdm12 The Staples

This is probably one of the most over looked strategy jumps in the game. The map is properly named “The Dredworks” with its hatred by most quake players. But this hatred can be blamed on 2 very common over sights to the map. The first is control over the BFG10k and the other is knowing how to move around on the map. The first major mistake most players make is staying on the ground floor. This leaves you open to attack from the 2 floors above you. Its a good rule of thumb to remember “if you control the skies, you won the battle”. This is also the case with qzdm12. One of the tricks to roaming the map and staying off the ground floor is to stay on the second level. These 2 jumps were once referred to as “The staples” as they are the basic necessity for roaming and controlling this map. The First is fairly easy, its just using the map details to your advantage. The second is abit more challenging as it requires speed to allow you to jump directly to the next platform. It is also possible to jump directly to the platform on the opposite side of the map as well.

qztourney4 Middle Domination

These jumps are middle range difficulty with strategy jumping. The first jump is a true strafe jump over the gap on the top row instead of the commonly used cheat jump which uses the columns and requires little speed. The second jump on the middle floor is also a rudimentary jump as it only requires practice and a decent circle jump. Both of these jumps will aid any player with the control of qztourney4.

qztourney3 Over under jump

This isnt the most complicated jump in the game but it will definitely give you that bonus edge you were looking for as well as some finesse to show off to your opponent. It allows you to move from one side of the arena to the other thus creating the “shot in the back” result as your opponent peaks out the middle catwalk looking for you because he heard you jump, but never saw you.
